Headlines once again remind us of sexual violence related to military activity:
Sri Lanka: Rape of Tamil Detainees
Rape and domestic violence follow Syrian women into refugee camps
Sexual violence in the global war on terror
Is There an Army Cover-Up of Rape and Murder of Women Soldiers?
The list of examples above could unfortunately be much longer. As with other forms of government-related crime, ordinary citizens find themselves in the strange and unwanted situation of often financing both the criminals and the cover-up of the crimes, by the taxes they have to pay. This is not acceptable.
